This session will review the morbidity and mortality associated with foot disease and the impact on the health of the public. An overview of the social determinants including economic stability, education access and quality, healthcare access and quality, neighborhood and built environment and social and community context related to managing diabetic foot ulcers will be reviewed. Understanding the multiple complexities related to treating diabetic foot ulcers including the social components is vital if we want to improve the health of the public.
